Position Summary

Poll Clerks (PC) work at non-technologically enabled voting locations alongside the Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) to serve voters and complete voting records. PCs work with the DRO to process voters, make records of declarations, and assist with the counting of ballots.


Responsibilities

  • Helps set up the polling station and equipment
  • Makes records of voter’s declarations and registration forms
  • Maintains voting records to provide to political candidates
  • Assists DRO with ballot count after polls close
  • Helps packing up polling station after close of voting


Specific Skills

  • Able to follow instructions and checklists and complete repetitive tasks on paper forms
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Good organizational skills and legible handwriting
  • Able to work for long stretches of time (up to 13 hours)


Availability

  • Available to attend a 4 hour training session provided by Elections Saskatchewan (period of October 22 – October 25) and complete 3 hours of online self-directed study.
  • Available to work 13 hours on the last day of voting(October 28).
