Small Location Changes & Count Information

Change in Voting Location Athabasca

There is a change in voting location that you should be aware of. On Saturday, October 26 only, the voting location in Green Lake (constituency of Athabasca) will move to the Green Lake Radio & TV Station building, located at 217 3rd Avenue in Green Lake. Our returning officer will inform your candidates, and signage will be posted on the previous location directing voters to the new building.

Constituency of Wood River – Additional Station

Yesterday, I let you know that we had added an additional voting station in Lumsden-Morse.

Today, we have added a voting station at the Prince of Wales Culture and Recreation Centre (201 3rd Avenue West, Assiniboia) in the constituency of Wood River. Please inform your candidates in that constituency.

Counting Ballots – Early Voting, PCF/Homebound & Count Teams

Early voting ballots are typically counted at the same location in which they were cast.

If any early voting poll ballots will not be counted in the same location as which they were cast, we will inform you and your candidates. I have already informed you (in my October 22 Communique) that early voting ballots from Cumberland House will be counted in the constituency of Cumberland returning office.

Personal Care Facility and Homebound voting ballots will be counted at the returning office unless we inform you otherwise. As with any other count, your candidates are able to send representatives to view these counts that take place at the returning office. The same rules and restrictions apply as at any other vote counting location.

Finally, on the topic of counting ballots, we are beginning to collate the data that will allow us to determine how many count teams we will deploy once voting ends to assist in counting stations that have a large volume of votes. I know that this information will be important to you for planning your distribution of candidate representatives. I expect to provide you with a preliminary list of expected counting teams tomorrow, but please be aware that it will likely shift and increase as more votes come in.

Second Preliminary Count – October 30, 2024

While our primary focus may be on the next few days of early voting and the last day of voting on Monday, October 28, I wanted to begin providing you with some details on the Second Preliminary Count, which will be held on Wednesday, October 30. On this day, we will count all Vote by Mail ballots that have been returned to us by end of day on Saturday, October 26.

The Second Preliminary Count will be held at the Conexus Arts Centre (200 Lakeshore Drive, Regina) in the Shumiatcher Room beginning at 9:30 a.m. on October 30. Our current plan is to have a maximum of 16 counting teams. Many more details will come over the next several days.

Additional Mobile Polls

We have added an additional mobile poll – see the table below for details. Anyone who lives at this address (who has not already voted) will be able to cast a ballot but residents will still have the option of voting at other locations in the constituency.
