New Constituency Maps Available

Last year, a provincial Constituency Boundaries Commission was formed and completed its work of recommending changes to the province’s 59 southern constituencies. Those recommended changes were passed into law in December 2022 and will take effect for Saskatchewan’s next general election, scheduled for October 28, 2024.

My office has now posted maps of these new constituencies to our website. They can be found here: www.elections.sk.ca/2024maps. A shape file is also available for those who are interested in accessing the maps in this way.

Its important to remember that these new constituencies will not come into effect until the Legislative Assembly is dissolved in advance of the province’s next general election. That means that the current set of provincial constituencies remain in effect until that time, and any by-elections that are required would be held using the current set of constituency boundaries.

By-Election Reminder – Returns

A reminder that the deadline for candidates from our recent by-elections to file their expense returns is Friday, November 10. I’d encourage you, as Chief Official Agent, to check on your candidates’ progress if you have not done so recently. Party returns are due on February 12.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Boda
Chief Electoral Officer
