Final Count Completed
Final Count Results – Effect on Recounts
The Final Count was completed earlier today, Saturday, November 9. Final results can be viewed at https://results.elections.sk.ca/ – please ensure you have the “Final Count” tab selected.
In my communique to you dated November 6, I provided information on the recount processes that are outlined in The Election Act, 1996 (the Act). Please see that document as well as the relevant sections of the Act for more information.
I want to ensure you are aware that the following constituency meet the threshold that a candidate (or their financial agent) is automatically entitled to request a recount:
If you would like more information about this threshold, please contact my office and we will provide it. Any request for a recount or additional when automatically entitled must be made on the E-151 form, which is attached. The deadline to make such a request is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13.
As I mentioned in my earlier communique, given the impact of the Remembrance Day holiday and the fact that we do not have public returning office hours after voting ends, we will help facilitate any requests that a candidate wishes to make and ensure they can be served on the applicable returning officer within the legislated time frame. If one of your candidates (or their financial agent) intends to request a recount that they are automatically entitled to, please have them contact Jennifer Colin, Deputy CEO, at [email protected] or 306.787.4061.
The period to apply to a judge of the Court of King’s Bench for a recount or addition (when not automatically entitled) also begins today and ends at the end of the day on Tuesday, November 12. Details on this process were provided in my November 6 communique with further information found in section 156 of the Act.
Thank you for your commitment and cooperation over these past few months.
