Financial Agent Training & Request for Party Logo

June 11 Meeting Follow-Up

Just a brief note to thank all of you for your party’s participation at our annual meeting held on Tuesday, June 11. I think this was one of the best meetings we have held to date and helped to set the stage for our upcoming general election.

You should have received PDF copies of all slide decks presented by my office via email. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to be in touch.

Op-Ed in Newspapers

While you may have seen it already, I wanted to ensure that you were aware of an op-ed I wrote for the Regina Leader-Post and Saskatoon StarPhoenix earlier this week. It describes what it actually means to modernize elections (its not just about computers) and what you can expect to see this fall during the provincial election. I expect that you’ll recognize many of the same themes and ideas from last week’s meeting.

You can read it here: https://thestarphoenix.com/opinion/columnists/opinion-first-saskatchewan-voting-week-coming-for-october-election. Please feel free to share it throughout your party and with your network of candidates and volunteers.

Financial Agent Training

We have received a number of inquiries about financial agent training. This is very good news as we hope that by having financial agents trained and more aware of what their responsibilities are, we will all have a better post-election experience.

Financial agent training is currently under development. We are also working on an online tool that will allow candidates and financial agents to schedule training at their convenience. Once both of these tasks are completed, I will be in contact with you via a Communique to share information on how to apply.

If your party would like to schedule specific training for your candidates’ financial agents, please reach out to Aaron Thompson at [email protected] to make those arrangements.

RPP Logos – Results Website

Work has begun on the website we will use to display results after voting closes in our upcoming election. We traditionally include a logo for each registered political party as part of our results page. You can see an example from our 2020 election here: https://results.elections.sk.ca/ge29/.

Would you be able to email a current party logo that we can use on our website to my office? Emails can be sent to [email protected]. I appreciate your cooperation in advance.

By-Election Returns – As Reviewed

Finally, just a note to ensure that you are aware that both candidate and political party returns from the Lumsden-Morse, Regina Coronation Park and Regina Walsh Acres by-elections, have been posted to our website with a status of “As Reviewed.” These can be viewed here: https://www.elections.sk.ca/reports-data/candidate-political-party-finances/candidate-returns/.

Wishing you all the best as you prepare your campaigns for the fall.
