February 23, 2018 – Voters in Kindersley, Melfort and Swift Current can begin casting their ballots in person today for the March 1 by-elections. Polls open at 3 p.m. in six locations in Kindersley, three in Melfort and one in Swift Current at the following locations:

Kindersley:

  • Eston Community Complex, 310 3rd Street SW, Eston
  • Kerrobert Seniors’ Hall, 541 Atlantic Avenue, Kerrobert
  • Caleb Village, 60 Stevenson Crescent, Kindersley
  • Macklin Communiplex, 5201 Highway #31, Macklin
  • Major Centennial Hall, 7 Center Street, Major
  • Tramping Lake Community Hall, 304 Prairie Avenue, Tramping Lake

Melfort:

  • Kerry Vickar Centre, 206 Bemister Avenue East, Melfort
  • Naicam & District Senior Citizens Centre, 305 1st Street South, Naicam
  • Watson New Horizons, 126 Main Street, Watson

Swift Current:

  • Swift Current Mall, Unit #403, 1 Springs Drive, Swift Current

All eligible voters can vote at any advance poll in their constituency on the following days and times:

  • Friday, February 23, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 24, Noon to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, February 25, Noon to 7 p.m.
  • Monday, February 26, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Tuesday, February 27, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Voters who registered ahead of time should have received a voter information card, also known as a VIC, in the mail by now. Check that card for where and when to vote. Any eligible voter who didn’t register in advance can still register in-person when they go to vote. Voters are also reminded to bring along ID (such as a driver’s licence) and to avoid the usual busy times such as when the polls first open and over the supper hour.

Total votes cast in these three constituencies during the five days of advance voting in the 2016 general election were:

  • Kindersley 1,574
  • Melfort 1,550
  • Swift Current 1,326
