March 13, 2018 – The final count is complete for the provincial by-elections held on March 1, 2018 in the constituencies of Kindersley, Melfort and Swift Current. The preliminary count was held on by-election night, March 1, after 8 p.m.

Absentee ballots, better known as voting by mail, must have been received at Elections Saskatchewan no later than March 12, and needed to be postmarked no later than March 1.

Kindersley:

  • 11,690 registered voters (11,883 in 2016 General Election (GE))
  • 3,797 ballots cast (7,067 in 2016 GE)
  • 32.48 percent turnout of registered voters (59.74 percent in 2016 GE)
  • Ballots from a total of 55 ballot boxes were counted on March 1, comprised of:
    • 44 for regular polls
    • 7 for advance polls
    • 4 for mobile polls (personal care homes in the constituency)
  • No homebound voting applications were received, therefore there was no homebound poll.
  • Two additional polls (1 for absentee votes, and 1 for hospital/remand votes) were added to the Final Count for a total of 57 ballot boxes.

Melfort:

  • 12,181 registered voters (12,254 in 2016 GE)
  • 4,205 ballots cast (7,237 in 2016 GE)
  • 34.52 percent turnout of registered voters (59.23 percent in 2016 GE)
  • Ballots from a total of 58 ballot boxes were counted March 1, comprised of:
    • 48 for regular polls
    • 4 for advance polls
    • 5 for mobile polls (personal care homes in the constituency)
    • 1 for a homebound poll
  • Two additional polls (1 for absentee votes, and 1 for hospital/remand votes) were added to the Final Count for a total of 60 ballot boxes.

Swift Current:

  • 12,218 registered voters (12,216 in 2016 GE)
  • 5,198 ballots cast (7,364 in 2016 GE)
  • 42.54 percent turnout of registered voters (60.55 percent in 2016 GE)
  • Ballots from a total of 58 ballot boxes were counted March 1, comprised of:
    • 43 for regular polls
    • 3 for advance polls
    • 5 for mobile polls (personal care homes in the constituency)
    • 1 for a homebound poll
  • Two additional polls (1 for absentee votes, and 1 for hospital/remand votes) were added to the Final Count for a total of 54 ballot boxes.
