Since 8 p.m. on election day, Elections Saskatchewan has received and approved (as of 12 noon October 29) 8,827 additional vote by mail ballots. These ballots will be counted at the Final Count, beginning Saturday, November 7. The Final Count will also include in-person ballots cast at returning offices, hospital, remand and temporarily displaced voter ballots, and extraordinary voting ballots. Vote by mail ballots returned after the deadline of Noon on November 5 will not be counted.

“This morning I met with Chief Official Agents from registered political parties that have been in attendance. They were reminded of the importance of political party representatives observing the count so as to reinforce the integrity of the counting process, but also that results are not to be shared until they are distributed publicly via the Elections Saskatchewan results website. The maintenance of trust in Saskatchewan’s electoral processes by voters, political parties and candidates is Elections Saskatchewan’s highest priority,” says Dr. Michael Boda, Chief Electoral Officer of Saskatchewan.

Reminder that election results will only be official following the Final Count which begins November 7. Until then, Elections Saskatchewan will provide updated information on its results website as it becomes available.
